A large part of central Spain including the capital of Madrid is slowly clearing snow after the country's worst snowstorm in recent memory. An unrelenting blizzard blanketed Spain with 50-year record levels of snow, grinding traffic to a halt and leaving thousands stranded in cars or at train stations and airports that suspended all services.
