Several journalists apprehended in Minsk, including TASS press photographer Bobylev
Bobylev contacted TASS and disclosed that the police put him on a bus along with other apprehended journalists
MINSK, August 27. /TASS/. TASS press photographer Sergei Bobylev was apprehended on Svobody Square in Minsk on Thursday evening, while he covered a rally of protesters against the outcome of the presidential elections.
Bobylev, who is officially accredited in Belarus, contacted TASS and disclosed that the police put him on a bus along with other apprehended journalists, including representatives of Reuters, Associated Press and Radio Liberty.
According to the press photographer, he has been taken into custody for a "document check." According to Bobylev, the apprehended journalists are being taken to the Oktyabrsky District Police Directorate.
The journalists prepared to cover the planned procession from Svobody (Freedom) Square to Nezavisimosti (Independence) Square, where the Government Building is located.
Meanwhile, people continue to gather on Svobody Square. Some of them carry white, red and white flags. There are about one hundred people and about twenty journalists at the moment.
