Putin to attend Tsentr 2019 military exercise in Orenburg on Friday, says Kremlin

Kyrgyzstan's president will be Putin's guest, according to the Kremlin spokesman

MOSCOW, September 19./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in the Orenburg Region on Thursday to attend the Tsentr 2019 command-and-staff exercise on September 20, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

"Today, the president will fly [from Izhevsk] to Orenburg, where he will stay overnight, and tomorrow he will attend the active phase of the strategic command-and-staff exercise Tsentr (Center) 2019. President of Kyrgyzstan [Sooronbay] Jeenbekov will be a guest of the president," Peskov said.

The Russian and Kyrgyz presidents are scheduled to hold bilateral talks, he added.

All in all, the strategic command-and-staff exercise Tsentr-2019 involves 128,000 troops, more than 20,000 pieces of military equipment, 600 aircraft and 15 warships and auxiliary vessels. The main operations are to be conducted on September 16-21 at training ranges in South Russia, Siberia and Urals and in the Caspian Sea involving servicemen from Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
