KRASNODAR, November 7. /TASS/. Another McDonald’s restaurant was sanctioned on Friday with a $2,100 fine in the capital city of Russia’s Krasnodar territory. Local Arbitration Tribunal once again fined the eleven restaurants in the region for sanitary standards violations, such as absence of certification and dirty floors in the dinner, court officials told TASS.

Earlier, court already punished several McDonald’s restaurants in the region with a number of fines amounting to $26,600 in total. The charges pressed by the court usually had to do with high concentration of pathogenic germs and coliform bacteria in the food, as well as absence of meals’ expiry date.

Starting this summer Russia’s consumer supervisory service has been inspecting McDonald’s chain, which includes 435 restaurants in 85 Russian cities. As a result, more than 200 fast food eateries have been thoroughly inspected, nine of which were finally closed and others harshly fined for sanitary norms violations. Eventually, McDonald’s net profit in the country has slashed 30% in the third quarter of 2014, reaching $1,068 billion.

Within the latest month McDonald’s has become less popular in Russia. Eventually, on October 18-19, 2014 All-Russia Public Opinion Centre (VTSIOM) has surveyed 1,600 Russians on the issue.

According to the poll, 49% of the respondents supported the idea of closing all McDonald’s restaurants throughout the country, pointing to extremely poor quality of the food and claiming it to be unsavory, while only 33% were against the idea, which is fewer than this April’s survey showed (45%). Moreover, half of all McDonald’s consumers consider the restaurants moderate, one in three visitors were unsatisfied with the food and quality, while only one tenth of the respondents evaluated the dinner positively. Meanwhile, 54% of the surveyed claimed they had never even been to McDonald’s.
