Ukraine’s Right Sector Ural supporter attacking police station with machete detained
“The young man acted aggressively threatening to inflict bodily wounds and kill the police officer,” the police spokesperson says
YEKATERINBURG, July 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian far-right movement Right Sector supporter Mikhail Maslak from the town of Troitsk, Russia’s Ural Chelyabinsk region, who attacked a policeman with a bayonet-knife and a machete was detained and will be arrested soon, the Troitsk investigation department told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
“A criminal case was opened and is being investigated against the suspected attacker for use of violence against a law enforcer,” the investigation department said, adding that Maslak was detained in an attempt to break in the Troitsk inter-municipal police department.
“A police officer on duty at the entrance in the building tried to stop the offender. But the young man acted aggressively threatening to inflict bodily wounds and kill the police officer and was brandishing the cold steel,” the Chelyabinsk police press service reported.
Local media reported that Maslyak was an active member of Ukrainian ultranationalist movement Right Sector and had previous convictions, the police press service said.
