Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, praising his high political authority, according to a copy of the telegram of congratulations published on the Kremlin website on Sunday.
"Dear Mr. Xi Jinping, please accept my warmest congratulations on your re-election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The results of the 20th Anniversary Congress of the CPC have fully confirmed your high political authority, as well as the unity of the party you lead," the telegram said.
The Russian leader expressed confidence that the decisions of the congress will help the successful implementation of China's large-scale social and economic tasks, as well as the strengthening the country's position on the international stage.
