Cooperation between Moscow and Beijing develops in all areas — Putin

The Russian president specified that Moscow and Beijing are implementing major projects in the energy sector, industry, space, transport and logistics

BISHKEK, August 31. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and China is developing in all areas, including in the economy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

"Cooperation is successfully developing in all areas, including in the economy. We are carrying out major projects in the energy sector, industry, space, transport, and logistics," Putin said at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Bishkek.

The Russian president recalled that the first regular voyage of a Chinese container ship along the Northern Sea Route took place in mid-August.

The Russian president pointed out that the growth in bilateral supplies of agricultural products reached 34%.

"Digital innovations, including Artificial Intelligence technologies, open new opportunities for the economic development of our countries," Putin said, adding that Russia is set for bilateral cooperation with China in this sphere.

"Under the current complex geopolitical situation, the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China serve as a model of interstate relations," the Russian president noted.

"This [cooperation] is based on strong traditions of friendship, respect for sovereignty, equality, and mutual benefit," he added.

Presidents of Russia and China are currently visiting Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit that runs from August 31 to September 1.
