"The conversation also focused on the situation surrounding the upcoming memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. Donald Trump said that an agreement is close and that he expects the results of the difficult but ultimately successful negotiations to be announced as early as today," he said.

During a phone call with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction that the conflict between the United States and Iran, which had the potential to "set the entire region ablaze, is being successfully contained, Putin’s aide Yury Ushakov said.

"Our side expressed satisfaction that the conflict, which had the potential to set the entire region and beyond ablaze, appears to be under control," he said.
