Russian air defenses down 693 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones in past day

Units of Russia’s Battlegroup East have destroyed camouflaged positions and deployment sites of the Ukrainian army in the Zaporozhye Region, the Defense Ministry reported

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russian air defenses shot down two Neptune long-range missiles and 693 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"Air defenses downed 12 smart bombs, three US-made HIMARS rockets, two Neptune long-range missiles, and 693 fixed-wing drones," the statement reads.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian army has lost a total of 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 132,011 drones, 653 missile systems, 28,725 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,696 multiple rocket launchers, 34,308 field artillery systems and mortars, as well as 58,752 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed since the start of Moscow’s special military operation.

Russian forces hit Ukrainian production sites for missile control systems and missile components in the past day, as well as the temporary deployment points of Ukrainian troops in 159 areas, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"Russian tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile forces and artillery units struck production sites for control systems and components of tactical missiles, energy facilities used by the Ukrainian armed forces, and assembly and storage sites for fixed-wing drones, as well as on the temporary deployment points of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in 159 areas," the statement reads.

Battlegroup North units destroy 75 Ukrainian drones over past 24 hours

The Ukrainian armed forces lost 75 fixed-wing UAVs and 38 R-18 heavy combat quadcopters over the past 24 hours as a result of combat operations by Russia’s Battlegroup North units, the group’s spokesperson Vasily Mezhevykh reported.

"We identified and destroyed 46 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control posts, 75 fixed-wing UAVs, 38 R-18 heavy combat quadcopters, an armored recovery vehicle, an ammunition depot, and six enemy supply and fuel depots," he said.

Battlegroup East destroys camouflaged positions and deployment points of Kiev forces

Units of Russia’s Battlegroup East have destroyed camouflaged positions and deployment sites of the Ukrainian army in the Zaporozhye Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"During aerial reconnaissance, a UAV reconnaissance crew of the unmanned systems forces of the Battlegroup East discovered a network of camouflaged enemy dugouts and firing points in forest belts. The coordinates of the identified targets were promptly transmitted to an artillery unit. A crew of the Giatsint-S self-propelled gun carried out a series of precision strikes on the Ukrainian positions," the statement reads.

In addition, a Grad MLRS crew of the Battlegroup East destroyed Ukrainian forces deployment sites where the enemy was attempting to covertly deploy manpower.

Battlegroup West destroys 44 Ukrainian forces UAV control points over past 24 hours

Servicemen of Russia’s Battlegroup West have destroyed 44 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control centers over the past 24 hours, and shot down 48 fixed-wing drones and 62 heavy combat quadcopters, the group’s spokesperson Ivan Bigma reported.

"Air defense crews and mobile air defense teams shot down 48 fixed-wing drones, eight loitering munitions, and 62 heavy combat quadcopters in the air. <…> In addition, a Plastun electronic reconnaissance station, 44 UAV control centers, a Starlink satellite communications station, and three enemy field ammunition depots were identified and destroyed," he said.

The Russian military also destroyed a British-made L-119 howitzer, a US-made M101 howitzer, two mortars, and 23 Ukrainian ground robotic systems, Bigma said.

Air defense forces destroy 50 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions overnight

Air defense forces shot down 50 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"During the past night, from 11:00 p.m. Moscow time (8:00 a.m. GMT) on April 5 to 7:00 a.m. Moscow time (4:00 a.m. GMT) on April 6, air defense alert systems intercepted and destroyed 50 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov and Krasnodar Regions and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas," the Defense Ministry said.

Battlegroup North tank crew destroys Ukrainian camouflaged strongholds, personnel

The crew of a T-80BVM tank of Russia’s Battlegroup North in the Kharkov Region has destroyed camouflaged strongholds and personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported, releasing relevant footage.

"The crew of a T-80BVM tank from a tank battalion of the Battlegroup North’s motor rifle division has destroyed Ukrainian militants spotted in the special military operation zone in the Kharkov Region," the statement reads.

The ministry noted that drone operators detected a concentration of enemy personnel prepared for rotation. The tank crews then moved to previously prepared covered fire positions and struck the enemy from a distance of several kilometers.

Russian troops eliminate Ukrainian UAV control centers, fortified positions in Sumy Region

Russian Battlegroup North troops in the Sumy Region have destroyed Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control centers, fortified positions, and enemy personnel, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, releasing the relevant footage.

"In one of the populated areas in the special military operation zone in the Sumy Region, UAV operators, using thermal imaging and night vision cameras, while on duty around the clock, discovered the locations and routes of Ukrainian militants. The enemy also set up temporary accommodations, control centers, and a warehouse for storing UAV equipment in ruined buildings," the statement reads.

The information was transmitted to FPV drone crews of the unmanned aerial systems forces of Battlegroup North, which destroyed all identified targets during the attack. Thus, the ministry added, the Russian forces have neutralized the enemy fortified positions, command posts, and drone takeoff sites, and disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian army units.

Russia’s Battlegroup South destroys Ukrainian hexacopters, armored vehicles

Personnel of Russia’s Battlegroup South have destroyed enemy hexacopters and an armored vehicle in the Konstantinovska direction, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"As a result of precision strikes by FPV drones, two R-18 Baba-Yaga hexacopters were shot down. While monitoring the line of contact, aerial reconnaissance capabilities detected two heavy Ukrainian drones designed to carry out bombing strikes on fortified structures and equipment. The target coordinates were transmitted to the FPV attack drone crews. Both hexacopters were intercepted," the statement reads.

In addition, the battlegroup’s fighters destroyed an enemy combat armored vehicle and a pickup truck that were rotating personnel and delivering ammunition and supplies to forward positions.

Battlegroup East troops destroy 12 Ukrainian UAV control centers

Units of Russia’s Battlegroup East have destroyed 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control centers over the past 24 hours, the battlegroup spokesperson Mikhail Gerasimov reported.

"Over the course of the day, the enemy lost, including as a result of operations of unmanned systems units, about 290 servicemen, an infantry fighting vehicle, nine vehicles, two ammunition supply points, a Starlink satellite communications station, 41 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, and 12 unmanned aircraft control posts," Gerasimov said.

Russia’s Battlegroup South destroys 10 Ukrainian robotic platforms

Units of Russia’s Battlegroup South have destroyed 10 Ukrainian ground robotic systems over the past 24 hours, the group’s spokesperson Vadim Astafyev reported.

"Unmanned systems forces in the Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka, and Slavyansk directions destroyed 22 communication antennas and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), a Starlink terminal, 10 ground robotic systems, struck five UAV control posts, and 50 dugouts and shelters used by Ukrainian troops. Fourteen enemy drones were shot down," Astafyev said.
