CIS actively cooperates in combating terrorism, corruption, Putin says

The Russian president confirmed Russia's support for the package of documents adopted for work in this area

DUSHANBE, October 10. /TASS/. The fight against terrorism, extremism, and corruption remains an important area of joint work among the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized during his speech at a meeting of the CIS heads of state.

"An important area of joint work among the CIS states is the fight against terrorism, extremism, corruption, and so on. We are doing everything to establish this cooperation in a wide range of areas," Putin said.

He confirmed Russia's support for the package of documents adopted for work in this area.

"We certainly support the documents being adopted today. These include the anti-terrorism action plan, a series of local measures to protect external borders, an updated concept for military cooperation, a statement on combating transnational crime and money laundering, and strengthening energy security," he noted.
