Developments in Kursk Region: Ukrainian fighters suffer losses, face charges in Russia

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces lost more than 100 servicemen in the Kursk area over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The enemy's losses during the hostilities totaled more than 32,680 troops, according to the ministry.

The Main Military Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Ukrainian soldiers suspected of shelling the Dmitrievskaya church in the Sudzha district.

Progress of operation to destroy Ukrainian forces

- Units of the battlegroup North continued their offensive and struck Ukrainian formations in the areas of the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Maryevka, Nykolayevo-Daryino and Plekhovo.

- Strikes by army aircraft and artillery fire inflicted damage to clusters of Ukrainian personnel and equipment in the Kursk Region.

- Tactical aircraft and rocket forces struck at enemy concentration areas and reserves in the Sumy Region.

- The operation to destroy Ukrainian formations is pressing on.

Ukrainian losses

- Ukraine lost more than 100 servicemen, a tank, an armored fighting vehicle, four motor vehicles, two D-30 122-mm howitzers, a mortar and an electronic warfare station over the past day.

- Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk Region, the enemy has lost more than 32,680 troops, 213 tanks, 136 infantry fighting vehicles, 112 armored personnel carriers, 1,166 armored fighting vehicles, 944 motor vehicles, 283 artillery units, 40 multiple launch rocket systems, including 11 HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, 12 anti-aircraft missile launchers, seven reloading vehicles, 64 electronic warfare stations, 13 counter-battery radars, four air defense radars, 27 units of engineering and other equipment, including 13 obstacle-clearing vehicles, one UR-77 mine-clearing vehicle, six armored repair and recovery vehicles and a command and staff vehicle.

Case against Ukrainian fighters

- The Main Military Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Ukrainian soldiers suspected of shelling the Dmitrievskaya church in the Sudzha district. The church is a cultural heritage site.

- In mid-November this year, Ukrainian forces shelled the church with artillery systems, mortars and multiple launch rocket systems.

Housing certificates

- People that lost property in areas along the border in the Kursk Region filed more than 2,500 applications for housing certificates within two days, Kursk Region Governor Alexey Smirnov said.
