Teachers vacate building of Russian embassy’s school in Warsaw – embassy
The Russian diplomatic mission promised to ensure the continuation of the educational process for all students
MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. All the teaching staff and personnel, who were on the premises of the Russian school at the Russian embassy in Warsaw, have left the building seized by the Polish authorities, Andrey Ordash, Minister-Counselor of the Russian embassy to Poland, told TASS on Saturday.
"The teachers and other staff who lived on the school grounds have vacated the building taking their personal belongings and moved to another facility of the Russian diplomatic mission in Warsaw," he said.
As the diplomat assured, the embassy will ensure that the educational process will keep on going for all the school students.
"We were given seven more days to take the school possessions out," Ordash said.
On Saturday morning, Polish authorities began seizing the building of the Russian embassy school in Warsaw by force. The teaching staff were told to vacate the building by 07:00 p.m. Moscow time. Russia’s embassy to Poland described the Polish authorities’ steps as illegal.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia deems the Polish authorities’ intrusion into the Russian embassy school in Warsaw as a blatant violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention and another encroachment on Russian diplomatic property in Poland. The Foreign Ministry said that Warsaw’s steps would not remain without Moscow’s firm response and consequences for Poland.
