"And what matters the most, be sure that we will not forget and will not forgive this," Lavrov stressed

MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Russia will not forget and forgive the non-issuance of US visas to Russian journalists, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday before leaving for New York to take part in the upcoming meetings of the United Nations Security Council.

The relevant video was posted by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on her Telegram channel.

"And what matters the most, be sure that we will not forget and will not forgive this," Lavrov stressed.

"Naturally, I was aware that our American colleagues are known for doing such things but was sure that this time, taking into account the attention drawn to their disgraceful behavior, the situation would be different. But I was wrong. The country, which calls itself the strongest, the smartest, the freest and the most fair, has lost the nerve and made, I am sure, a silly thing demonstrating what its vows about the freedom of speech, access to information and etc. are really worth," he stressed.

He said that he is convinced that Russia’s statements at the United Nations Security Council will be in focus of attention of the entire world. "I am sure that it (the truth - TASS) will heighten much more interest in the entire world than the filtered information poured on their audience by our Western colleagues," he said. "So, we will have to do your job and exert more efforts to inform the world community."

Lavrov said earlier that the United State has abused its status of the United Nations host country when it did not issue visas to all journalists within the Russian delegation. The American side, in his words, gave to explanations to that.

Russia holds the presidency in the UN Security Council in April. As part of Russia’s presidency, Lavrov will take part in the UN Security Council meetings on April 24 and 25.
