Lavrov slams West’s attempts to portray Russia, China as ‘vaccine diplomacy adventurers’
This is absolutely not true, Lavrov said
GUILIN /China/, March 23. /TASS/. There is no substance behind Western countries’ attempts to accuse Russia and China of adventurist actions in the so-called vaccine diplomacy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Tuesday at a joint news conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
"[Western partners] are trying to portray Russia and China as some kind of adventurers in the field of the so-called vaccine diplomacy. This is absolutely not true," he said.
Lavrov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken in favor of all countries being guided solely by considerations of humanity and the interests of saving lives in issues related to the production and distribution of vaccines rather than geopolitical considerations or commercial approaches.
"It is absolutely necessary for everyone, including our partners in the West, to remember that," he added.
