Kremlin spokesman says unaware of plans to change Russian Constitution
MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov is unaware of plans to change the country’s Constitution, as he himself told reporters, commenting on a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation, which showed that 68% of respondents supported the idea to amend the Russian Constitution.
When asked if the Kremlin planned to update the Constitution, Peskov said: "I cannot tell you anything about such plans because I am unaware of them."
In response to a question why the Russian people could possibly demand changes to the Constitution, the Kremlin spokesman replied that he did not know what the poll’s question was and what methods the pollster had used. "Clearly, there is an unshakable segment of the Constitution and there is also a segment that reflects the reality of the time. I don’t know the details of the poll so I can’t say anything," Peskov said.
