Apartment building in Sevastopol hit by falling drone debris, no casualties reported
Windows were broken in some apartments, city governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said
MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Debris from a drone shot down by Russian air defenses fell onto the rooftop of an apartment building in the Black Sea port of Sevastopol, city Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said.
"An air defense system was engaged in Sevastopol. Sevastopol’s rescue service has received reports of drone fragments falling on the roof of one of the apartment buildings in Inzhenernaya Balka. No one was hurt. But the falling parts of the drone blew out windows in a few apartments," he said on Telegram.
He also said that all staff and services are on combat alert. Rescue workers were on the way to the scene of the incident. They will decide whether there’s any explosive objects that need to be removed, he said.
An air raid alert was issued in the city on Tuesday evening. That prompted a suspension of waterborne and overland transport. The alert has now been canceled.
