MOSCOW, May 30. /TASS/. One person was killed and two were injured when Ukrainian troops shelled a shelter for evacuated residents in southwestern Russia’s Belgorod Region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.

"A security guard for the facility <…> was killed. Two people were injured and admitted to intensive care in serious condition. One victim suffered a penetrating wound to the stomach, another sustained penetrating wounds to the chest. They have been operated on and are now receiving the required treatment," the official said.

According to the governor, Kiev troops used conventional artillery to attack a spa resort sheltering elderly people and children evacuated from the village of Sereda in the region’s Shebekinsky district that borders Ukraine.

"Three direct hits were registered at the facility’s residence block, the administrative building and an entrance checkpoint. There was a hole in the roof and multiple windows were smashed. Two cars were damaged by shell fragments," Gladkov wrote.
