Five killed in bus crash in Russia’s Ryazan region
Another 22 injured
MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Five people were killed in a bus crash in Russia’s Ryazan region, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
Another 22 people suffered injuries, the regional prosecutor’s office said in a statement. "Twenty-two people suffered injuries in the accident, 12 of them have been taken to the hospital," the statement reads.
A doctor at the Skopin district medical center told TASS that the two kids had serious injuries.
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the bus crash.
According to the regional traffic police, a Neoplan bus crashed into a railway bridge abutment at 05:45 am local time. There were a total of 49 passengers on the bus. According to initial reports, the driver lost control of the bus.
