SAINT PETERSBURG, October 9. /TASS/. The role of gas in daily consumption has risen sharply, particularly noticeable during the fall-winter period, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF-2025).

"Gazprom is studying how major economies consume gas and tracking the dynamics of daily gas consumption. Over the past ten years, gas has shown the highest relative share in daily consumption growth of 28%. What does this mean? It means that the role of gas in daily consumption, especially during the fall-winter period, has risen sharply," Miller stated.

On September 30, Gazprom updated the historical record for gas deliveries to Russian consumers for the month of September, amid colder weather and the start of the heating season in Russian regions. The volume reached 1 bln cubic meters of gas.

In 2024, Gazprom delivered a record 390 bln cubic meters of gas to Russian consumers through its gas transportation system.
