ST. PETERSBURG, June 20. /TASS/. The G7's share in the world economy is decreasing year after year, while the BRICS' share is growing, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Look at previous years. The share of the so-called G7 in the world economy is shrinking year after year, while the share of the BRICS countries is growing," he said.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is taking place on June 18-21. This year, the event is being held under the theme "Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World." The Roscongress Foundation is the event’s organizer. TASS is its information partner.
