Dollar exchange rate up above 80 rubles on Moscow Exchange first since January 26

Earlier the ruble was down against the dollar and the euro by more than 3%

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. The dollar exchange rate gained 3.51% during Monday trading on Moscow Exchange compared with the previous closure to 80.01 rubles, surpassing the 80 rubles mark for the first time since January 26, 2022, according to the trading data as of 10:08 pm Moscow time.

As of 11:05 pm the dollar exchange rate was up by 3.04% at 79.67 rubles.

Meanwhile, the euro exchange rate is up by 2.8% at 90 rubles, according to trading data as of 11:06 pm.

The price of futures contracts of Brent crude oil for April delivery was up by 2.96% at $96.31 per barrel on London’s ICE, while the price of WTI crude oil futures was up by 2.86% trading at $90.05 per barrel.

As of 10:40 pm on Monday, the dollar’s exchange rate was up by 2.19% at 78.99 rubles, while the euro’s exchange rate extended gains to 89.73 rubles (+2.49%).

As of 11:02 pm, the dollar was up by 3.06% at 79.6 rubles, while the euro was up by 3.03% at 90.2 rubles.

Earlier, the ruble was down against the dollar and the euro by more than 3%.

The price of futures contracts of Brent crude oil for April delivery was up by 3.11% at $96.45 per barrel on London’s ICE as of 11:01 pm Moscow time, while the price of WTI crude oil futures was up by 2.84% trading at $90.03 per barrel.
