Overnight, the Russian Armed Forces launched a group strike on energy facilities that supply electricity to Ukrainian defense plants and drone production cites as well as Ukrainian troops

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Russian forces delivered a strike on energy facilities that supply electricity to Ukrainian defense companies as well as enemy troops last night, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.

Here are the details of this and other combat actions that happened over the past day, according to the bulletin.

Battlegroup North

Units from Russia’s Battlegroup North have inflicted roughly 135 enemy casualties in the past day, including near Kharkov.

The enemy has also lost two armored combat vehicles, four vehicles, two D-20 howitzers and two D-30 howitzers, the ministry specified.

Battlegroup West

Russia’s Battlegroup West has repelled two counterattacks by Ukrainian assault groups, inflicting roughly 435 enemy casualties in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The enemy losses also included four tanks, two US-made APCs, five vehicles, four US-supplied howitzers, two D-20 howitzers, a D-30 howitzer, a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counterbattery radar and seven field ammo depots, the ministry specified.

Battlegroup South

Russia’s Battlegroup South has inflicted roughly 840 Ukrainian casualties in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Also, Ukraine lost two tanks, two Kazak armored combat vehicles, 22 vehicles, four British-made howitzers, two US-supplied howitzers, a D-20 artillery mount, two D-30 howitzers and three Anklav-N electronic warfare systems, the ministry added.

Battlegroup Center

Soldiers from Russia’s Battlegroup Center continued to push deeper into enemy defenses, inflicting roughly 520 Ukrainian casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Namely, Russian forces hit troops and military hardware from 12 Ukrainian brigades and one border control unit in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and repelled nine Ukrainian counterattacks, the ministry specified. The Ukrainian military losses included two pickup trucks, two Msta-B howitzers, four D-30 howitzers, a D-20 howitzer, a Rapira anti-tank gun as well as a US-made MaxxPro MRAP and two US-provided howitzers. Also, a field ammo depot was eliminated.

Battlegroup East

Units from Russia’s Battlegroup East have taken up better forward-edge positions, inflicting roughly 160 enemy casualties.

According to it, the Russian battlegroup hit formations from five Ukrainian brigades in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Zaporozhye Region. The enemy lost an armored combat vehicle, two vehicles, two French-made howitzers, a D-20 howitzer and an electronic warfare system there.

Battlegroup Dnepr

Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr has inflicted roughly 60 enemy casualties in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

Ukrainian troops also lost four vehicles, the ministry specified, adding that a field ammo depot was also wiped out.

Air Force and air defenses

"Overnight, the Russian Armed Forces launched a group strike on energy facilities that supply electricity to Ukrainian defense plants and drone production cites as well as Ukrainian troops, weapons and military hardware, using high-precision weapons and combat drones," the ministry said.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery from Russian battlegroups wiped out two depots for missiles and artillery weapons and struck a bulker carrying Western-made projectiles and ammunition supplies to the Kiev regime, as well as concentrations of enemy troops and military equipment in 153 areas."

Russian air defense forces have downed 177 fixed-wing drones, 10 HIMARS rockets, three Hammer bombs as well as six Neptune missiles.

Tally of destroyed equipment

Overall, since the beginning of the special military operation, Russian forces have eliminated 646 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 31,983 unmanned aerial vehicles, 579 anti-aircraft weapons systems, 18,317 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,457 multiple launch rocket system vehicles, 14,963 field artillery guns and mortars as well as 26,328 special military vehicles.
