MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. Russia’s military have improved their position in the forefront in the Kupyansk direction, with eight attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces repelled, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, assault teams of the western battlegroup improved their position in the forefront during offensive operations. In 24 hours, eight attacks and counter-attacks by units of the Ukrainian army’s 95th air assault, 14th and 32th mechanized brigades were successfully repelled in the area of the settlements of Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Pershotravnevoye, Sinkovka, as well as the Mankovka natural area in the Kharkov Region," he said.

The Ukrainian military lost up to 70 troops, two armored combat vehicles, three motor vehicles, as well as a self-propelled Gvozdika howitzer, Konashenkov added.

The Russian armed forces have repelled three Ukrainian army’s attacks near Sergeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Serebryansky forestry in the Krasny Liman direction, with up to 90 enemy militants eliminated, Spokesman noted.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, well-coordinated operations of units from the battlegroup Center, army aviation strikes, artillery and heavy flamethrower fires repelled three attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 63rd and 66th mechanized brigades near the settlement of Sergeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Serebryansky forestry. The enemy lost up to 90 Ukrainian militants, two armored combat vehicles, two pickups, as well as a D-20 howitzer," he said.

The Russian armed forces have successfully repelled seven attacks by the Ukrainian army’s assault groups in the Donetsk direction, including near Kleshcheyevka and Vodyanoye, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Donetsk direction, forces from the southern battlegroup in cooperation with aviation and artillery successfully repelled seven attacks by the Ukrainian army’s assault groups in the areas of the settlements of Kleshcheyevka, Yakovlevka, Vodyanoye, Krasnogorovka and Nevelskoye of the Donetsk People’s Republic. <…> Over 110 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, two armored combat vehicles, four motor cars, as well as two D-30 howitzers, were eliminated in 24 hours," he said.

Russia’s armed forces have also repelled two Ukrainian army’s attacks near the settlement of Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Defense Ministry Spokesman said.

"In the south Donetsk direction, aircraft, artillery, heavy flamethrower systems and units of the battlegroup East repelled two attacks by the Ukrainian army’s assault groups near the settlement of Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," he said.

Russian forces destroyed over 130 Ukrainian troops, one tank, three armored combat vehicles, as well as a US-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station, Konashenkov said.

Russia’s armed forces have repelled three Ukrainian army’s attacks in the Zaporozhye area near Rabotino, he reported.

"In the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian military group, aviation strikes and artillery fire repelled three attacks by the Ukrainian army’s 46th airmobile brigade in the area of the settlement of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye Region in the past 24 hours," the spokesman said.

Russian forces destroyed over 40 Ukrainian troops, five tanks, two armored combat vehicles, two motor cars, as well as an Msta-B howitzer, in this direction, Konashenkov noted.

In the Kherson direction Russia’s military eliminated up to 35 troops, two cars, a self-propelled Gvozdika howitzer, as well as an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station and, he added.

Russian air defense systems also eliminated 29 Ukrainian drones in the area of the special military operation in 24 hours, including over the Black Sea, according to Konashenkov.

In all, 458 aircraft, 245 helicopters, 5,683 unmanned aerial vehicles, 429 surface-to-air missile systems, 11,249 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,144 multiple rocket launchers, 5,853 field artillery guns and mortars and 12,189 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation, the spokesman said.
