Iranian president praises development of ties with Russia

The Duma speaker arrived in Tehran on April 9 for an official visit

TEHRAN, April 9. /TASS/. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani emphasized on Monday that relations with Russia are developing year by year.

"Relations between our governments are very close," the president went on to say at a meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. "I am confident that the same relations have been established between our parliaments," the president added.

Volodin, for his part, said "the presidents of the two countries play a tremendous role in the development of bilateral relations of Russia and Iran. We see that these relations are developing successfully," the speaker said.

The Duma speaker arrived in Tehran on Monday for an official visit, within the framework of which he has met with President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, as well as participated in the opening of a plenary session of the Russian-Iranian business forum.
