Ukrainian military relocate self-propelled artillery to line of engagement - LPR

Ukraine’s Armed Forces continue violating the limitations for deployment of military equipment close to the line of engagement

LUGANSK, December 2. /TASS/. Reconnaissance of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) registered tanks and self-propelled artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the line of engagement some 20 km north of Debaltsevo, spokesman of the republic’s militia Col Andrei Marochko said on Saturday.

"Ukraine’s Armed Forces continue violating the limitations for deployment of military equipment close to the line of engagement, listed in the Minsk agreements," Luganskinformcenter quoted him. "At night, a convoy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ two tanks, three self-propelled artillery systems and four infantry fighting vehicles arrived to the Vozrozhdennya settlement."

Besides, the colonel continued, the Ukrainian military had fired more than 200 shells and mines on the republic’s territory, using mortars, weapons of infantry fighting vehicles and grenade launchers.

Since the fall of 2014, participants in the Contact Group on East Ukrainian settlement have announced about a dozen of ceasefire deals. On June 24, the so-called "harvest ceasefire" came into effect - it was expected to hold until the end of August. However, shelling incidents continued to happen.

On August 23, the Contact Group members declared a "back-to-school" ceasefire in Donbass starting from August 25. However, on that very day, defense authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk Republics reported that their territories had come under shelling from positions of the Ukrainian troops. Kiev, in turn, has been accusing the republics of violating the ceasefire.
