LUGANSK, December 2. /TASS/. Authorities of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) have effective relations with representatives of the Russian authorities in the humanitarian sphere, the republic’s acting Head Leonid Pasechnik said in a statement published on Saturday.
"Recently, I can see in the Ukrainian media an absolutely inadequate reaction to the recent events in the Lugansk People’s Republic, in relation to the conflict, which they have invented, between FSB, the Russian Presidential Administration and other Russian authorities," Luganskinformcenter quoted him.
"I would like to stress, personally I and all the leaders of the Lugansk People’s Republic have effective cooperation with all Russian authorities, providing humanitarian assistance to this republic in this complicated time," Pasechnik continued. "I am confident, our cooperation will continue in future."
"In the framework of work to implement the Minsk agreements, to which we adhere, and in other issues we have been cooperating actively with the Russian Presidential Assistant Vladislav Surkov. We appreciate Russia’s persistent position on a peace settlement of the conflict. Russia’s leadership at the very high level pays special attention to this issue, and we hope, among others, to finalize the exchange of prisoners before the year-end," the statement reads.
On November 24, LPR’s head Igor Plotnitsky resigned for health reasons. The republic’s Minister of State Security Leonid Pasechnik took the office to the time of next election. Igor Plotnisky, according to Pasechnik, was appointed the Republic’s envoy on implementation of the Minsk agreements.
