Syrian government delegation to come to Geneva for talks on November 29 - source

The delegation will be headed, as before, by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar Jaafari

GENEVA, November 28. /TASS/. The Syrian government delegation will come to Geneva for the eighth round of the talks on Syria on Wednesday, November 29, a diplomatic source told TASS.

"The Syrian government delegation will come to Geneva on November 29 for a new round of talks," the source said. The delegation will be headed, as before, by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar Jaafari.

Earlier, the Al-Watan daily published in Damascus reported that the government delegation is dragging out its arrival to Geneva due to the document adopted by the Syrian opposition at the Riyadh conference which contains wording on the necessity of resignation of Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad at the beginning of the transition period.

The eighth round of the talks on Syria starts on November 28 in Geneva. It will focus on two issues: the preparation of the constitution and holding an election based on it.
