ASTANA, March 4. /TASS/. Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a phone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the presidential press service said on Saturday.
"In the context of talks which have just ended in Geneva, Russia’s president said that armed units of the Syrian opposition were planning to hold a next meeting on resolution of the Syria crisis in Astana in mid-March," it said in a statement. "Kazakhstan’s president expressed readiness to organize these negotiations."
Besides, Nazarbayev and Putin focused on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the context of their recent meeting in Almaty.
"The heads of state exchanged views about the regional agenda with respect to Vladimir Putin’s recent visits to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan," the press service said.
