Syrian troops down Islamic State drone near Deir ez-Zor — SANA

The drone obviously obtained from the Iraqi army arsenals in Mosul was tracked by Syrian servicemen over a military aerodrome

BEIRUT, February 19. /TASS/. Syrian troops downed an Islamic State drone loaded with bombs near the city of Deir ez-Zor, some 420 kilometers off Damascus, SANA said on Sunday.

The drone obviously obtained from the Iraqi army arsenals in Mosul was tracked by Syrian servicemen over a military aerodrome. Another such drone was downed in Deir ez-Zor on January 11.

Syrian government forces repelled terrorists’ attacks in Deir ez-Zor’s southern suburbs. SANA said the terrorists retreated, sustaining losses.

Apart from that, the Syrian army advances further near Palmyra (240 kilometers off Damascus). Syrian troops regained control of the settlement of al-Samamat and now are positioned 12 kilometers away from the city.
