MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Thursday to state that the agreements between the Syrian government and the moderate opposition are observed, the Kremlin’s press-service said.

"It was stated that the agreements achieved between the government of Syria and the moderate opposition through the mediation of Russia and Turkey on the cessation of hostilities has been observed by and large. It was agreed to step up active joint efforts to prepare for intra-Syrian negotiations in Astana," the Kremlin said in an official statement.
The conversation had been requested by the Turkish side. The focus was on the situation in Syria.
"Also, there was a discussion of bilateral problems, including further restoration of full-scale trading and economic ties and a meeting of the high-level cooperation council under the chairmanship of the two heads of state, to be convened in the near future," the Russian presidential press-service said.
