China’s prime minister, deputy prime minister to visit Russia — foreign ministry

China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang will pay official visits to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Russia from November 2 to 9

BEIJING, October 28. /TASS/. China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang will pay official visits to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Russia from November 2 to 9, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lu Kang announced at a briefing.

"On November 2-9, Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang will pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 15th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government. He will also make an official visit to Kazakhstan where he plans to hold the third regular meeting with his Kazakh counterpart," Lu Kang said.

"While in Latvia, Li Keqiang will take part in the fifth summit on cooperation between China, Eastern and Central European countries. He will then pay an official visit to Russia to attend the 21st regular meeting of the Russian and Chinese prime ministers," the Chinese diplomat added.

The Russian government earlier reported that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will meet his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang on November 7 in St. Petersburg.

"Dmitry Medvedev and Li Keqiang will discuss the key issues of bilateral trade, economic, energy, investment, regional and border cooperation as well as humanitarian interaction," the Russian government’s statement read.

In addition to that, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman announced that China’s Vice Premier of the State Council Wang Yang would pay official visits to Russia and Turkey on November 1-5. "The Vice Premier of the State Council Wang Yang will visit Russia to take part in the 20th meeting of the Commission for Preparation of prime ministers’ meetings. He will also visit Turkey to attend the first meeting of the Commission on bilateral intergovernmental cooperation at the deputy prime ministers’ level," Lu Kang said.
