About 60 people stage rallies in front of Russian embassy in Kiev

Both the rallies involving Ukrainian nationalist activists and Crimean Tatars were held peacefully

KIEV, October 14. /TASS/. Two protest actions against the policy of the Russian authorities were staged by Ukrainian activists and Crimean Tatars in front of the Russian embassy in Kiev on Friday. About 60 people took part in the actions.

"The rally was held peacefully," a spokesman for the Russian embassy said.

Crimean Tatars demanded a release of five Crimeans who had been arrested on October 13 for a term of two months over suspected links with the terrorist organization Hizbut ut-Tahrir (outlawed in Russia).

Activists of the Ukrainian radical organization Right Sector gathered near the Russian embassy and chanted anti-Russian slogans.

"Both actions were held peacefully, no police interference was needed. They lasted for about thirty minutes," a spokesman for the Kiev police said.
