Media: Syrian warplane crashes near Damascus

The jet reportedly crashed after performing a mission against the Islamic State terrorist group, and the pilot is alive

ABU DHABI, September 21. /TASS/. A Syrian warplane has crashed in the suburb of the country’s capital Damascus, the SANA news agency reported on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the defense ministry said "the warplane of Syria’s Air Force crashed near Eastern Kalmun in the suburb of Damascus."

The jet crashed after performing a mission against the Islamic State terrorist group, and the pilot is alive, according to the report.
