TEHRAN, August 16. /TASS/. The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, has confirmed that Iran has let Russia use its infrastructures to fight against terrorism in Syria, the Iranian news agency IRNA reports.
Iran and Russia enjoy strategic cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Syria and share their facilities and capacities to this end, the Iranian news agency IRNA quotes Shamkhani as saying.
He was speaking in the wake of reports Russian military aircraft had used the Iranian air base at Hamadan to deal strikes against the Islamic State.
