KIEV, August 3. /TASS/. The United States has become the largest supplier of armament to Ukraine, delivering military equipment worth about $117.5 million, the Ukrainian publication Apostrof reported on Wednesday, citing Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.
"The armament transferred by that country to Ukraine includes tactical engagement laser simulation systems (MILES) [designed for personnel’s combat training], Harris radio stations, medical equipment, mine-clearing devices, night vision gear and thermal imaging devices," the publication reported.
The United States has also supplied Ukraine with body armor vests, Kevlar helmets, WILLARD rigid hull boats, counter-battery radars, Humvee cross country vehicles, military uniforms and field rations.
Since January 1, 2014, 18 countries, most of which are NATO member states, have provided diverse logistical and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said. They transferred military equipment worth over $164.1 million to the Ukrainian army.
