Greece to extradite insurgents fleeing from Turkey - Anadolu Agency

A helicopter with 8 insurgents involved in the coup attempt landed in Alexandroupolis, Northern Greece, all persons on board requested a political asylum

ANKARA, July 17. /TASS/. Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras said on Saturday evening in a telephone conversation with Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan that 8 insurgents fled to Greece will be extradited, Anadolu Agency reported on Sunday.

"Erdogan and Tsipras discussed latest developments in Turkey in a telephone conversation. The Prime Minister of Greece said he will do all the needed for extradition of servicemen fled from Turkey," the agency reported.

The helicopter used by insurgents was brought back to Turkey, Anadolu Agency said.

"The helicopter of insurgents hijacked during the coup attempt was brought back to the territory of Turkey," the agency reported.
