KIEV, July 6. /TASS/. The heating season in Ukraine may be disrupted because Naftogaz of Ukraine company has blocked accounts 104 energy companies across the country, Mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko said.
"A lot of money is being spent on preparation for the heating season. However, now accounts 104 energy companies across the country have been blocked and there is a great risk that we will not be ready for the heating season," he said in an interview with NewsOne TV Channel.
According to Klitschko, local authorities applied to the government with a request to resolve this situation.
"Misunderstanding between Naftogaz and the energy companies may lead to the situation when people will be left without heat. Therefore, all stakeholders should gather at the round table to solve this problem," the mayor of Kiev said.
Earlier the Kyivenergo company reported that it had halted preparation of urban energy facilities and communications for the coming heating season after its accounts were seized due to penalties imposed by Naftogaz Ukraine.
The company’s press service said that another 104 energy companies in Ukraine are in similar situation.
