MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is confident that under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin Russia will be able to overcome any difficulties, including problems in the economy.

"Without a doubt, under the leadership of President Putin Russian people together will surely overcome all temporary difficulties, including a downward trend in economic growth," the Minister said at a meeting with the Russian President.

The Chinese Foreign Minister assured the Russian leader that China believes in the successful development of Russia. He recalled that this year the country celebrates the 15th anniversary of signing the treaty on friendship, good-neighborly relations and cooperation. Wang Yi expressed hope that it will give the opportunity to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister noted that Beijing is confident in the prospects of practical cooperation with Russian business. He noted that although in the past year the total volume of bilateral trade slightly declined due to commodity prices, in fact economic cooperation increased in scope and quality of interaction. In particular, mutual investment and trade in such commodities as crude oil and high-tech engineering products rose.

The Minister also gave the President best regards from Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling him a great friend of the Russian leader.
