Kiev forces shell two villages in self-proclaimed Donetsk republic

No casualties or damage have been reported so far

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Kiev troops have shelled two villages in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR defense ministry said on Friday.

"Some 20 minutes ago, the Kominternovo village of Novoazovsky district (in southern DPR) came under fire from the positions of Kiev forces in Shirokino," a ministry official told the Donetsk news agency. The forces fired around five 120-mm caliber shells.

The DPR-controlled area of the Zaitsevo village in northern Gorlovka was also shelled from tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and 82-mm caliber mortars, the official said.

No casualties or damage have been reported so far.

Earlier in the day, local authorities said the night in the conflict zone was calm.

Under the Minsk agreements, a complete ceasefire was declared on the contact line in Donbas from September 1. However, Kiev forces have been systematically violated the ceasefire. Late last month, Ukraine’s authorities said they were ready to observe ceasefire from midnight on November 25. Still, the DPR regularly registers separate instances of shelling on the part of Kiev forces.
