KIEV, November 30. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held several brief meetings with the heads of European and Asian countries on the sidelines of the XXI United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris. No serious agreements were reached while prospects of the visa-free regime with Ukraine was on top of the agenda. Poroshenko has also once again called on Europeans to extend sanctions against Russia.
"The issue of introducing visa-free regime for Ukrainians was discussed at the talks," the Ukrainian presidential press service said on Monday adding that Poroshenko held talks with the presidents of Austria, Latvia, Romania, Finland and the prime ministers of Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Greece.
The Ukrainian president also met with representatives of Asian countries. In particular, an agreement was reached at the meeting with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on holding the next meeting of the Inter-governmental commission on trade, economic, science and technical cooperation in Kiev in 2016.
The Ukrainian leader also held a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. No serious decisions were made at the talks.
The Ukrainian presidential administration also reported that Poroshenko held talks with the newly-elected Argentine leader.
