The driver of the car which took the suicide bomber to the site of the explosion has been detained

KUWAIT CITY, June 28. /TASS/. Security forces in Kuwait have arrested another accomplice in Friday’s attack on a mosque that killed 27 people and wounded another 227. The driver of the car which took the suicide bomber to the site of the explosion has been detained, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.

"Security forces arrested the driver of the car, which took the terrorist to Imam Sadiq mosque", the ministry said. According to its report, the accomplice named Abdul Rahman Sabah Aidan resided on the territory of Kuwait illegally.

The detained person was hiding in a house in the south of Kuwait City. The police said "the owner of the house was a follower of the extremist ideology."

The Islamic State extremist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
