Yet another Russian humanitarian convoy sets off for eastern Ukraine

The convoy consists of more than 120 trucks with food products, articles of daily necessity, textbooks and study aids, and building materials

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. Another Russian humanitarian convoy has set off for eastern Ukraine, a spokesman for the Russian emergencies ministry’s national crisis management centre told TASS on Thursday.

"A Russian emergencies ministry’s humanitarian convoy for Donbass set off from the Don rescue centre at 04:00 a.m. Moscow Time and now is heading for the Russian border," the spokesman said.

The convoy consists of more than 120 trucks with more than 1,400 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes - food products, articles of daily necessity, textbooks and study aids, and building materials.

Before the border the convoy will break in two - one will go to the Donetsk border crossing point to later reach Lugansk, and the other will go to Donetsk via the Matveyev Kurgan border crossing point.

This is the 24th humanitarian convoy from Russia since mid-August 2014. The previous 23 convoys delivered more than 30,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes to war-gripped Donbass.
