MOSCOW, March 16 /TASS/. Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian deputy foreign minister and the president’s special representative for the Middle East and Africa, met Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Dr. Riad Haddad on Monday to discuss preparations for a second round of consultations between the Syrian opposition and the Syrian government due to take place in Moscow in April, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Priority attention was paid to practical tasks of organizing a second round of inter-Syrian consultations in Moscow in April," the ministry said.
"Haddad was informed of all the details of preparations for the consultations on the ‘Moscow floor’ designed to help sides in the Syrian conflict to reach accord without any external interference on the basis of the Geneva communique adopted on June 30, 2012," the ministry stressed.
Mikhail Bogdanov and Dr. Riad Haddad also discussed further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Syrian bilateral relations.
