MINSK, February 10. /TASS/. Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov may attend Tuesday’s meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk on resolving the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov has told journalists.

"We have information that he will fly [to Minsk]," the Russian diplomat said.

Russia’s ambassador to Kiev, Mikhail Zurabov, will arrive in Minsk on Tuesday afternoon.

Ukraine’s former President Leonid Kuchma, who represents Kiev’s authorities at the Contact Group talks, is also due to come to Minsk on Tuesday afternoon, a representative of Ukraine’s embassy in Belarus told TASS.

The Contact Group talks are expected to start after 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT).

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said further details on where and when the meeting is due to take place will be unveiled after 4 p.m. local time.

The previous meeting of the Contact Group on January 31 ended practically without any results. The negotiators of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics said upon its end that Kiev had been putting forward ultimatums to the self-defence forces instead of holding genuine talks.
