MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. Monaco’s positions often coincide with those of Russia within the framework of the Council of Europe, the principality’s Minister of State, Michel Roger, told a TASS news conference on Thursday.
“We are a small but independent state,” Roger said. “We are not part of the European Union but within the framework of the Council of Europe, our positions often coincide with Russia’s.”
Roger said Monaco covered an area of about two square kilometres but was home to 129 ethnic groups. “A total of 37,000 people live in Monaco, including 8,600 Monaco nationals and 450 Russians,” he said, adding that 5,000 enterprises operated there.
