THE UNITED NATIONS, December 23. /TASS/. Pyongyang has opposed a decision which the UN Security Council has taken on Monda,y putting the rights situation in North Korea on its agenda, North Korean diplomat in the UN Kim Song said.

The diplomat accused the United States of manipulating this issue as a weapon of political struggle in order to exert pressure on North Korea. Kim Song also noted that Pyongyang would give a response to the UN Security Council’s decision.

On Monday, the UN Security Council has held its first meeting devoted to the rights situation in North Korea despite opposition from Russia and China. North Korean diplomats boycotted the meeting.
