KIEV, December 11. /TASS/. Ukraine’s state-owned concern, Ukroboronprom, sends almost 97% of produced weapons and hardware to Ukrainian security forces for in the east, the concern’s first deputy director, Serhiy Pinkas, said on Thursday.
Plants of the defense sector provide hardware at prices, which do not exceed the cost of production. Earlier, this was not done when all hardware was exported at prices, which were two or three times higher.
At present, Ukroboronprom intends to reduce weapons supplies abroad by selling only double-purpose products — engines.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), in 2013 Ukraine ranked eighth in the list of arms suppliers. Its share reached 3%.
