Ukraine prisoner swap postponed to September 25

DONETSK. September 24. /ITAR-TASS/. The latest exchange of prisoners held by the Ukrainian government and local militias planned for Wednesday has been postponed for one day, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic committee for prisoners of war and hostages said.

Timing for the release of 60 captives on both sides was under discussion, the committee said, adding that it had forwarded its lists for another exchange to Kiev, Ukraine's capital, but had received no reply.

Exchange of prisoners is one of the key points in the agreement reached by the Contact Group of international observers and interested parties in the conflict, meeting in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on September 5.

Four exchanges have been held since then, swapping numbers of 37 for 37, 70 for 70, 38 for 38 and 28 for 28.
