TEL AVIV, August 20, 2:14 /ITAR-TASS/. Palestinian radicals launched a rocket attack on the city of Tel Aviv in Israel late on Tuesday after a truce in the Gaza Strip was disrupted, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported.

According to the IDF, two rockets fired from the Palestinian coastal enclave exploded near Tel Aviv, four near the city of Beersheba in southern Israel and another two in Sderot, 10 kilometers from the border with Gaza.

Israeli-Palestinian relations grew sour after June 12, 2014, when three Jewish teenagers were abducted in the West Bank.

Later the teenagers were found killed. Israel accused Hamas militants of committing the crime.

On July 8, 2014, the Israel Defense Forces announced the start of the Protective Edge operation in the Gaza Strip against militants of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement).

Israelis and Palestinians have repeatedly agreed on a temporary ceasefire with Egypt’s mediation. A regular five-day truce was agreed upon on August 14.
