ROME, August 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has stated the need for an earliest cessation of fire in Ukraine. The Italian Head of Government discussed the situation in that country in a telephone conversation with Ukraine's President Pyotr Poroshenko on Tuesday.

The press service of the Italian government pointed out in a statement, "During a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in the country's east and discussed with the interlocutor the diplomatic efforts being made to settle the crisis". The statement said Renzi "called for an immediate cessation of fire".
